Now you can print to the Pharos Print Cloud. Pharos Release Stations are located in the Classroom Wing 2nd Floor, Student Lounge, Rowland Medical Library Computer Lab & 2nd Floor of the Library

 

 

If you want to print from your laptop, you must

 

1.  Install VPN on your computer and

2.  Install the printer drivers

WHERE CAN I PRINT?

Currently, you will be able to print to the Pharos Print Cloud and release your print jobs at any of these Pharos Release Stations:

 

 

 

HOW DO I PRINT?

You must name your document before you send it to the printer.    

 

HOW DO I RELEASE IT?

 You can release a print job by swiping your ID badge at one of the Pharos release stations.

 

 

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO PRINT?

You must do this within 30 minutes of sending it to the printer.  After 30 minutes your documents will be deleted from the queu.

 

 

CAN I PRINT ON TWO SIDES (DUPLEX)?

Yes, but it will charge you for each side.  If you need help, see someone in circulation or click here.

 

 

CAN I ONLY PRINT OR CAN I ALSO MAKE COPIES?

You can print and make copies now on the Canon and the Ricoh in the computer lab in the library and the Pharos printer on the second floor.  Please make sure you log off after you make copies, so someone else will not make copies using your account.  The HP printers in the Student Lounge and Classroom Wing will only print.

 

 

HOW DO I PAY FOR THIS?

All full time students will be credited $50 for the year to pay for printing and copies (on the two specified copier/printers). Each page costs 10 cents.  One you use the money allotted to you, you must go to circulation in the library and add more money. 

 

 

WHAT IF THE $50.00 IS NOT SHOWING UP ON MY ACCOUNT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR?

If you scanned your ID and printed last academic year, you will see a left over balance from last year. Please go to circulation and ask them to set your balance to $50.00 If you held a job at UMMC over the summer, you may also not automatically receive your $50.00. Please see circulation. 

 

 

HELP!!  I’M LOCKED OUT!

If you are locked out, please contact DIS Help Desk at 4-1145. The library can do nothing about this. ONLY DIS can help you with this. 

 

 

PRINTER PROBLEMS?

All printer problems need to be addressed to the lab staff at the circulation desk.  They can either solve the problem or find out who can.

 

 

HOW DO I PRINT FROM MY LAPTOP?

You must first connect to the UMMC network to install VPN client.  You will only need to do this one time.

OK, I’VE GOT VPN INSTALLED, WHAT DO I DO?    

Great! Now you need to install the printer drivers for the different printers otherwise your print job won’t go anywhere.

 

 

INSTALL PRINTER DRIVERS SO YOUR LAPTOP CAN SEND DOCUMENTS.

(NOTE for PC instructions: if the link in the first step does not work, you are probably not connected to the VPN. Check that you have the VPN installed and connected and try again.)

 

 

 

You must be successfully connected through VPN and have the printer drivers installed in order to print from your laptop.
