Avian
Influenza
This guide is an introductory list to help locate research materials at the Rowland Medical Library. Avian influenza ("bird flu") is an infectious disease of birds caused by type A strains of the influenza virus. H5N1 and some other highly pathogenic strains of virus have crossed from birds to humans, caused flu outbreaks in Asian countries. Mutation of the virus and efficient human-to-human transmission may have contributed to the outbreaks.
