Bulimia


This guide is an introductory list to help locate research materials at the Rowland Medical LibraryBulimia is an eating disorder characterized by binge eating (consumption of a large amount of food in a short time), followed by attempts to prevent weight gain by extreme dieting, vomiting, laxative and diuretic misuse, and/or excessive exercise. Patients also have a characteristic over concern about body weight and shape. The disorder was first described and included in the classification of diseases only 20 years ago.
