Cardiovascular Disease in Women

This guide is an introductory list to help locate research materials at the Rowland Medical Library.  Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death and disability in American women over 50.  Many women do not realize they are at risk because signs of heart disease in women appear about 10 years later than for men.  It is important to be aware of  the risk factors, and that behavior to modify some risk factors can help prevent heart disease in women.
