Hypertension

This guide is an introductory list to help locate research materials at the Rowland Medical Library.  Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a condition of abnormal blood pressure (systolic blood pressure => 140 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure => 90 mmHg). Eventually, this condition can cause damage to the cardiovascular system and many major organs.  Hypertension has been called the "silent killer" because many people who have it might not have any symptoms in the early stages.
