Nutrition
This guide is an introductory list to help locate research materials at the Rowland Medical Library. Nutrition is the study of how the body ingests, digests, absorbs, transports, and utilizes the nutrients and other substances found in food. The science of nutrition is also concerned with helping individuals select the proper diet and foods. Normal nutrition is a condition of the body resulting from the efficient utilization of essential nutrients provided by food intake. An unhealthy diet can contribute to the development of obesity, heart disease, hypertension, stroke, dental caries, and some kinds of cancer.
