Accessing E-Journals From Off-Campus
Use these instructions if you know the citation information (name of journal, volume, page numbers)
Electronic Journals
Go to library’s homepage at
http://www.library.umc.edu
Log in to UMC Resources
Choose Electronic Journals from the menu.
Click on the link for the electronic journal. Please note that not all electronic journals are available off-campus.
Check any notes to see if it is not available off-campus. Also, check the
holdings information to see what issues are available. For example, some electronic journals may only allow access to 1 year.
If you are off-campus, a login box may appear. Type in your library ID and Password.
There is not a standard format for electronic journals. Some journals will allow you to search by citation, author or keyword. Others will let you browse through the issues. Sometimes you can search by author or keyword in several journals concurrently. If you know the volume of the journal the article is in, look for a search past issues, search back issues, or search archives link.
Some journals require a vendor supplied ID and password
for all access, remember it is the ID and password from the e-journals page,
NOT your individual library ID and password.
