Photocopy Services
Photocopy machines are available for public use. These machines are operated by coins or vendacards. Vendacards, 50 cents each, may be purchased at the circulation desk by cash payment or check only for a specified number of copies encoded on the card. The library will not bill for vendacard copies. UMC staff may charge vendacard purchases to an authorized departmental charge code number or operate the photocopy machine using coins. Change is available at the circulation desk for bills no greater than $5.00.
A coin operated microfilm/fiche reader and printer is located in U-114 for paper copies of information on film or fiche. UMC personnel making reader/printer copies using vendacards or charging to a departmental code must contact the circulation desk for assistance.
WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.
Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If user makes a request for, or later uses a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "Fair Use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the request would involve violation of copyright law.
